How Load Bank Leasing Works

You need a load bank built to your exact project specification. Power rating, cooling type, physical interfaces, communication protocols, report formats — the full configuration. But you don't want to commit six figures upfront for equipment you'll use a few times a year.

Our leasing model solves this directly. No standard equipment. No rental catalog you have to settle for. Instead: the device you need, paid for as you use it, with a guaranteed path to ownership.

STEP 1

Configure

The device is manufactured to your project specification — power, cooling (air or liquid), physical interfaces, protocols, report format. Same level of customization as a direct purchase.

STEP 2

Use Monthly

Equipment delivered to your site. Monthly usage fee. Storage, maintenance, spare parts, and technical support — all handled by loadbanks.solutions.

STEP 3

Buy Out: 100 % Credit

When you decide to own the equipment, every euro paid in rent — all of it — counts toward the purchase price. Not a discount. Not partial credit. Every cent.

The Rule: Each Rental Halves in Cost

Here's how the pricing works, illustrated with a 500 kW liquid-cooled load bank. Assumed purchase price: €28,000 (actual price depends on configuration).

Rental # This Month's Rent Total Rent Paid If You Buy Now: Remaining
1st €14,000 €14,000 €14,000
2nd €7,000 €21,000 €7,000
3rd €3,500 €24,500 €3,500
4th €1,750 €26,250 €1,750
5th €875 €27,125 €875
6th €437.50 €27,562.50 €437.50

* A "rental" equals one month of usage. A project requiring 2 months of continuous testing counts as 2 rental events — the second month drops to €7,000 automatically.

Purchase Price − Total Rent Paid = Remaining Buyout

Put simply: Every subsequent rental costs half the previous one. Total rent paid approaches the purchase price from below, never exceeding it. All rent is effectively a deposit toward ownership.

Why this works: The series €14,000 + €7,000 + €3,500 + €1,750 + … converges to €28,000. The accumulated rent approaches the purchase price arbitrarily close without ever reaching it. After the 3rd rental, the remaining buyout is under €3,500 — less than the shipping cost of most industrial equipment. Ownership is not a decision you need to make. It's a state you slide into.

What Makes This Different From Conventional Rental

Conventional equipment rental follows a simple logic: you pay for access, you return the equipment, the money is gone. That logic made sense when rental equipment was standard, interchangeable, and abundant.

Custom load banks break that model. A device built to your CDU flange specification, your Busway tap-off box dimensions, your BACnet data point table — that device has no second owner waiting. Its value only exists within your project. Our leasing structure acknowledges this reality: since you're the only user this device was built for, every payment you make should bring you closer to owning it.

Conventional rental: Pay rent → Return device → Money gone.

Our leasing: Pay rent → Credit accumulates → Convert to ownership anytime.

No forced decision. The most common procurement conversation — "Should we buy or rent?" — assumes a binary choice. Our model removes that assumption. You start with a low-commitment rental. Each subsequent use costs less. The math quietly pushes you toward ownership. But nothing forces you there. If your project ends after one test, you paid €14,000 instead of €28,000 and walk away clean. If you keep going, the buyout price dissolves to nothing on its own.

Where This Fits

Data center commissioning.

Validate UPS, generators, and power distribution at full load. Custom interfaces (Busway, CDU flange), formatted reports per authority requirements. Testing windows are short — weeks, not months.

BESS project debugging.

Charge/discharge cycle testing for battery cabinets. AC-side (PCS performance) or DC-side (cell consistency). BMS protocol integration (CAN/Modbus).

Cooling infrastructure validation.

Full-load liquid cooling circuit testing. The load bank itself is liquid-cooled — heat enters the cooling loop, not the ambient air. True operational simulation.

Multi-project engineering firms.

Multiple sites per year, short deployments per site. Pay per use, pay less each time. No equipment inventory. No storage. No maintenance overhead.

Questions You Might Have

Do the rentals have to be consecutive?

No. Rent in March, rent again in September — any gap is fine. Each new rental costs half the previous one. The count is per rental event, not per calendar month.

What if I rent once and never buy?

No obligation. You used a custom device for €14,000 instead of buying one for €28,000 you'd only need once. That's a 50 % saving with no strings attached.

Who absorbs the customization cost if the device is never bought?

We do. Custom interfaces, flanges, and protocol configurations are project-specific with no generic resale market. That risk sits with loadbanks.solutions — not with you. This is precisely why most rental companies don't offer customization. We accept this risk because we believe most customers who try the equipment will continue using it.

How is the purchase price determined?

Custom quote based on your technical specification — power, cooling type, interface complexity, protocol integration effort. Price is fixed in writing before leasing begins and does not change.
